It was on the road sun-baking, but I moved it off the asphalt before it got hit by a car.

I didn't realize that this is a cricket - the colour fooled me - until someone pointed it out (thanks Jenny S.). The plant it's perched on is a Variegated Pittosporum, also known as Lemonwood or Tarata (the Maori name).
